Spring fishing has sprung. With the warming water temps comes some of our pelagic species such as kingfish and cobia. The kingfish are holding on live bottom areas off of Anna Maria island in 35-45 feet of water. The best way to locate them is to bump troll live pilchards or threadfins until you get a bite to locate the school. After the school is located live chumming and putting out flatlines is very effective. The cobia will soon be showing up on the nearshore artificial reefs and then making their way into the bay. The inshore bite has still been great for the snook and redfish. The sheepshead are still chewing well and should be good through this months full moon.
